Project Background
The AGUP covers the upstream development of Ratawi field. It is located about 70 km west of Basra. AGUP Phase 2 is the full field development of Ratawi field. It involves drilling of 221 wells feeding a new built CPF, to TotalEnergies standards, with a targeted yearly production of 210 kbopd. The associated gas will be exported to GMP for commercialisation into the Iraqi commercial gas grid, hence the name: Associated Gas Upstream Project. The CPF shall be designed for 221 kbopd peak (210 kbopd yearly average with an availability of 95%) and include a water treatment for Produced Water Re-Injection (PWRI) into the  developed reservoirs (Yamama and Mauddud). The water production and injection rates are both estimated around 350 kbwpd.

The gas will be compressed and exported to the Gas Processing Plant (GPP) of the Gas Midstream Project, along with the condensate recovered from the gas compression. In turn, a centralised fuel gas and power plant is planned in the GPP to cover the needs of both AGUP and GMP projects.
