Principal C&I Engineer (PMC) | ||||||
1. Scope of Responsibilities | ||||||
Design Phase Initially based in the contractor’s office responsible for oversight of design, ensuring that Contractors design and engineering work complies with:
Review and sign off of contractor documentation Participation in multi-discipline design & safety reviews Review of vendor documentation Attendance at Factory Acceptance tests and Site Acceptance Tests Liaises with other disciplines to achieve design consistency. Supports the Project Management Team in planning, identifies technical issues which could limit progress and impact project budgets. Provides necessary input and support to project progress and reporting. |

Construction Management Typically provide Client Site Manager support services including:
Construction support personnel shall also participate during the design stage with constructability and model reviews. |

Pre-Commissioning / Commissioning & Start-up Project Management team shall ensure to provide continuity in the services required during this period (such as support of key engineering personnel to made available throughout the commissioning period as required by the Client). This will ensure the knowledge gained during the earlier stages is carried through into the operation phase. The process of preparing for and carrying out the Pre-commissioning of the plant is critical to the successful delivery. The interface between the construction and the operation of the plant requires detailed planning and adequate resources. 3. Job/Cost Impact | ||||||
Leads the C&I activities in developing the electrical design within project budget. Monitors contractor’s design & construction progress. Serves as the liaison for inter-discipline engineering involved in the project and is accountable for overall discipline related activities for the successful completion of project, on schedule and within budget estimates. |

4. Decision Making Authority | ||||||
Decisions limited to the scope of project requirement specifications. Consults with Supervisor on main issues of equipment specification and selection. May perform recruitment tasks in identifying qualified Engineers and Designers. |

5. Supervisory Responsibility | ||||||
May supervise typically between two and ten Engineers and designers. |

7. Physical Effort and Work Environment |
Duties essentially performed in Contractor’s Office during design phase and then on site. Time spent in review of deliverables, planning, coordination and attending meetings. Required to travel to other offices, Client’s offices, vendor workshops, and attend site visits as necessary, in accordance with corporate or project requirements. |

9. Minimum Requirement | ||
Typically Masters Degree in Electrical / Electronic or Control & Automation Engineering, Chartered Status preferred. Significant related experience working for Engineering/Client organisations in the Oil and Gas Industry. In design The applicant will be responsible for: Oversight of design, Review and sign off of contractor documentation Participation in multi-discipline design & safety reviews Review of vendor documentation Attendance at Factory Acceptance tests and Site Acceptance Tests Resolution of technical queries On site: Oversight of construction Resolution of site queries / technical queries on behalf of the operator Liaison with operators personnel |
