Job Title Subsea Structural/Mechanical (Manifold) System Engineer
Project Brief To support execution of Coral South FLNG project offshore Mozambique, in water depths up to 2,300m.
Coral is a greenfield development, in a remote location, where the infrastructure to support typical subsea projects is not yet fully developed.
Job Purpose Candidate will follow-up of activities related to Manifolds, Suction Pile Foundations, Tie-in Systems and ROV Tooling, ensuring the delivered systems meet project objectives, industry standards and best practice for safety, functionality, reliability and cost.
The scope includes, but is not limited to ;
  • Subsea Manifolds, with fully integrated control and distribution systems
  • Suction Pile Foundations
  • Horizontal Connection Systems, and associated tooling
  • Tie-in connectors for Well Jumpers, Flexible Flowlines and Umbilicals
Location
  • Primary Location – Bristol, UK (Project team offices)
  • Secondary Locations – Italy (engineering office), TBC (fabrication yards)
Main Responsibilities
  • Technical integrity in the engineering of relevant systems
  • Review vendor documentation relating to design, test and operation
  • Follow up manufacture, attend FAT’s / EFAT’s / SIT
  • Ensure compliance of Manifold System design and construction, to agreed contract requirements, including project specifications and standards
  • Provide technical support to related disciplines, to facilitate a smooth development of the overall engineering activity
  • Support field activities during installation, commissioning and start-up phase
Key Activities
  • Provide support to the team throughout project duration, from engineering until completion of as-built documentation
  • Provide comments and prepare responses to SPS contractor’s deliverables, technical queries and other technical correspondence
  • Report regularly and attend engineering meetings
  • Provide input and support to resolution of technical issues and interfaces
  • Support implementation of latest, agreed project developments
  • Report to Senior Mechanical Engineer on status, opportunities, exposures and performance for alignment and decision making

  • Engineering Co-ordinator, SPS & Umbilicals
  • Senior Mechanical Engineer, SPS
Main Internal Interfaces
  • Project Management Team
  • Related SPS discipline engineers
Main External Interfaces
  • SPS contractor lead and discipline engineers
  • Sub-contractor fabrication yard engineering team
  • Third party certification / validation contractor
Minimum Experience
  • Minimum experience of 10 years, directly related to Manifold Systems, preferably on both Company and Contractor sides
  • Experience in all phases of design, manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning offshore
  • Thorough code knowledge of ISO 13628 and 1990x series, ASME, DNV, etc
  • Proficiency in relevant analysis software (preferably CESAR)
Additional Experience
  • Track record of deepwater projects in remote locations
  • Experience in related Oil & Gas industry roles an advantage
  • Design experience on projects in seismically active areas
Qualifications
  • BSc and / or MSc in Mechanical or Subsea Engineering
