Job Title Workover  System Engineer
Project Brief To support execution of an  FLNG project offshore Mozambique, in water depths up to 2,300m.
Job Purpose Candidate will follow-up of activities relating to Workover Systems, predominantly for the Workover Control System. However a sound knowledge of mechanical equipment associated with the Horizontal Xmas Tree application is essential, ensuring the delivered systems meet project objectives, industry standards and best practice for safety, functionality, reliability and cost.
The scope includes, but is not limited to ;
  • WOCS MCS, HPU, XT Reeler, etc
  • Control of Xmas Tree, Surface Flow Tree, Lubricator Valve
  • Control of Subsea Test Tree, MCS, HPU, STT Reeler, etc (In Riser mode)
  • Control of EDP, LRP etc (Open Water mode)
  • Primary Location – Bristol, UK (Project team offices)
  • Secondary Locations – Aberdeen, UK and Stord, Norway (Contractor sites)
Main Responsibilities
  • Technical integrity in the engineering of relevant systems
  • Review vendor documentation relating to design, test and operation
  • Follow up manufacture, attend FAT’s / EFAT’s / SIT
  • Ensure compliance of Workover System design and construction, to agreed contract requirements, including project specifications and standards
  • Provide technical support to related disciplines, to facilitate a smooth development of the overall engineering activity
  • Support field activities during installation, commissioning and start-up phase
Key Activities
  • Provide support to the team throughout project duration, from engineering until completion of as-built documentation
  • Provide comments and prepare responses to SPS contractor’s deliverables, technical queries and other technical correspondence
  • Report regularly and attend engineering meetings
  • Provide input and support to resolution of technical issues and interfaces
  • Support implementation of latest, agreed project developments
  • Report to Senior Mechanical Engineer on status, opportunities, exposures and performance for alignment and decision making

  • Senior Mechanical Engineer, SPS

Minimum Experience
  • Minimum experience of 10 years, directly related to Workover Control Systems, preferably on both Company and Contractor sides
  • Experience in all phases of design, manufacture, testing, installation, operation and maintenance offshore
  • Thorough code knowledge of ISO 13628 series, IEC 61508, DNV, etc
Additional Experience
  • Track record of deepwater projects in remote locations
  • Experience in related Oil & Gas industry roles an advantage
  • Functional Safety training, specifically in relation to SIL2 rated control systems
  • BSc and / or MSc in Mechanical, Electrical or Subsea Engineering
  • Current offshore certification preferable
