We are recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Engineering team in a London office for a major EPC onshore project including brownfield and greenfield works.  The primary tasks will be performing detailed complex structural design.
Potential candidates should meet the requirements as stated below and have a substantial experience in steel and concrete structural design and in onshore oil, gas and chemical projects.
Job Description & Requirements
The successful candidate shall:
  • Plan and conduct independent work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Devise new approaches to develop solutions to technical and execution challenges.
  • Have a broad working knowledge of the principles and practices of structural design and of coordinating work with other technical disciplines.
  • Be knowledgeable of and performs standard discipline engineering activities for large and complex projects within the business line with minimal technical oversight.
  • Coordinate technical issues with other departments on the project including constructability requirements and reviews.
  • Provide technical direction for specific tasks and assign work to other senior engineers, engineers, designers, drafters or project sub-groups in the project structural team.
  • Have a broad knowledge of standards and procedures governing structural design in the industry.
  • Work with designers to produce and review deliverables associated with structural designs.
  • Work with other disciplines to ensure designs are both technically compliant and fully integrated.
The successful candidate shall have the following skills:
  • A broad technical knowledge of structural design.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry and international codes and standards governing Structural design.
  • A Civil Engineering degree (BEng or MEng).
  • A thorough knowledge of constructability, operability, and maintainability requirements.
  • Inherent organizational ability in addition to the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Preferably be chartered with the ICE or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in the utilisation of 3-D analysis software including StaaD Pro.
  • Proficiency in the utilization of 3-D modelling software including S3D.
